Error description

  • The DB2 Administration Tool for z/OS' 'V - Views' option on
panel ADB21 'System Catalog' performs poorly.

Local fix

  • Use the TV option rather than the V option.

*                      'V - Views' option on panel ADB21       *
*                      the performance is not adequate.        *

The default query to get information for views on panel ADB21
is very complex, which may cause poor query performance.
The DB2 Administration Tool will invoke a pop up panel
ADB2VWCF after the customer types the 'V - Views' command
on panel ADB21. Panel ADB2VWCF is a one time pop-up
panel.  The following describes panel ADB2VWCF:

ADB2VWCF
The V option supports two forms of output:
Enhanced (default) - Performs more analysis and presents
                     information on a view-centric display
Singular             - Performs no analysis and shows only
                     the SYSTABLES contents on a display
                     that is not view-centric
Note: The enhanced form may take longer to display than
         the singular form.

Set the default form you want to use:
  1. Continue to use the enhanced form as my default
  2. Use the singular form as my default

Note: You can change the default at anytime using
         P.2 option from the product main panel.
