Error description
An integer field throws a validation error when float chart character for instance 13.5 is entered in the field. This is an expected behavior. However, if the user removes only the decimal part (.5) and presses save, the validation error still appears. This issue is easy to reproduce. Use defect tracking schema 1-- Create a field type Integer 2-- Place the field on the form 3-- Open cq web and attempt to submit record with 12.5 in the new field and press save. Expected Result:- Validation error message appears. 'CRMUDOO64E The value 12.5 cannot be interpreted as an integer'. 4-- remove the .5 and press save. Unexpected Result:- 'CRMUDOO64E The value 12.5 cannot be interpreted as an integer' Workaround: a-- remove the whole value b-- Enter valid number and save record.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** When inadvertently adding a decimal point to a ClearQuest Web integer field, a user can not save a record. They must reenter the value completely so it's a valid integer. The can not just remove the decimal portion of the number.
Problem conclusion
After analysis of this APAR we have determined we won't fix this issue due to: low priority/severity, the risk of a fix and a straightforward workaround (remove the number completely and add a valid integer). A priority decision has been made that this defect cannot be addressed in the next 18 months without neglecting issues of higher importance and less risk. Thank you for your understanding.
