Why does the license expiration date not change after you upload a new license to the Local Management Interface (LMI) of the QRadar Network Security (XGS) sensor?
Answer
When managing the XGS sensor in stand-alone mode (without SiteProtector), you might notice that the Expires After date for your license under the Licensing and Performance page does not change immediately after uploading a new license to the sensor. This is normal behavior. This date only changes after the current license expires.
If you would like to verify that your new license was successfully installed, look at the Quantity value. It will display 2 if the new license is installed along side the old license.
If you would like to see this functionality changed on the XGS in a future release, follow the instructions in Technote 1682719: How to submit enhancement requests for IBM Security products to open a Request for Enhancement with IBM development.
Notes:

Notes:
- The license expiration that is indicated by the Expires After date occurs at 00:00 on the date in question.
- This behavior is not present when managing the XGS in SiteProtector. In that situation, SiteProtector assigns the XGS a single license from the pool of valid licenses that are installed in the SiteProtector Console.
