APAR status
Closed as program error.
Error description
The Client daemon process (cclclnt) uses 100% of the processor when no requests are being made. This can affect actions, such as CICS TG attempting to reconnect to servers that are unavailable. When a request is made, such as an ECI request or status request using cicscli/l, the 100% processor usage ends and the request is processed correctly.
Local fix
Run the 'cicscli -l' command to end the 100% processor usage.
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of CICS Transaction Gateway on * * UNIX or Linux platforms. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The Client daemon uses 100% of the * * processor when no requests are being * * made * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** CICS TG uses messages internally to trigger actions at specific times. Under certain timing conditions an internal flag is not reset correctly when processing these messages. This incorrect flag value causes the Client daemon to loop until another message is processed.
Problem conclusion
CICS Transaction Gateway has been changed so that flag is reset correctly. This prevents the loop from occurring, therefore resolving the problem.
