Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: IBM IMS High Performance Pointer Checker for * * z/OS Version 3 Release 1 (FMID=HPC2310) * * users who use HD Pointer Checker (HDPC) and * * Space Monitor (SPMN). * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: This APAR provides the following three * * new functions: * * * * 1. This APAR supports IBM IMS Database * * Solution Pack for z/OS V1.2 * * (5655-S77) and enables HDPC to call * * the Integrated DB Sensor function. * * * * 2. SPMN called from HDPC is enhanced to * * monitor the latest space utilization * * of VSAM data sets of online * * databases. * * * * 3. SPMN supports non-VSAM data sets * * allocated on Extended Address * * Volume (EAV). * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. * **************************************************************** This APAR provides the following three new functions: 1. Support IBM IMS Database Solution Pack for z/OS, V1.2 (5655-S77). HDPC supports the Integrated DB Sensor function. This APAR must be installed to run the full-function Database Sensor in the following environment: - HD Pointer Checker job - Single-step HASH Checking in the HP Image Copy job In order to support the Integrated DB Sensor function, the following new JCL procedures and the following new options are added to the PROC statement of the PROCCTL data set: New JCL procedures: - FABPC - FABPCD - FABPCM - FABPCMD - FABPCTA - FABPCTAM New options: - SENSOR=YES|NO Specify whether to store sensor data in the ITKB Sensor Data repository. - SENSOR_HOME=YES|NO Specify whether to collect the sensor data elements related to root segment distributions. - TOSIXCFGRP=TOSI xcf group name(TOIxxxxx)|*NO Specify whether to monitor the latest VSAM statistics of online database data sets by using IMS Tools Online System Interface. - ADXCFGRP=Autonomics Director XCF group name|*NO Specify whether to send notification to Autonomics Director. When you want to use the Integrated DB Sensor function, - Use the new procedures - APF-authorize all the STEPLIB libraries - Specify the new options to the PROC statement. For details about the new JCL procedures and the new options, see documentation updates on IMS Tools library site. For details of DB Solution Pack and Database Sensor, see the following documents: - IBM IMS Database Solution Pack for z/OS Overview and Customization (SC19-3284-00) - IBM IMS Solution Packs Database Sensor User's Guide (SC19-3283-00) 2. SPMN called from HDPC is enhanced to monitor the latest space utilization of VSAM data sets of online databases. SPMN called from HDPC can monitor the latest space utilization of VSAM data sets of online full-function databases by using IMS Tools Online System Interface. To use this function, one of the following products is required: - IBM IMS Tools Base for z/OS, Version 1 Release 1: IMS Tools Online System Interface (5655-V93) that has APAR PM17030 and PM21167 applied - IMS Tools Online System Interface in IBM Tools Base for z/OS Version 1 Release 2 (5655-V93) or later When you want to monitor online database VSAM data sets, - Use the following new procedures - FABPC - FABPCD - FABPCM - FABPCMD - FABPCTA - FABPCTAM - APF-authorize all the STEPLIB libraries - Specify the new option TOSIXCFGRP= to the PROC statement and SPMN=YES to the OPTION statement. For more details, see documentation updates on IMS Tools library site. 3. SPMN supports non-VSAM data sets allocated on EAV. SPMN is enhanced to support non-VSAM data sets allocated on the EAV. SPMN can show the correct reports about non-VSAM data sets, including OSAM data sets of an IMS database, that are allocated on EAV.
