PM49711: AMOS 19 CANNOT OPEN A PATH DIAGRAM FILE (*.AMW) CREATED BY AMOS 20

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• You attempt to open an Amos path diagram file (*.amw) created by
  Amos 20, using Amos 19 and you get the following error:
  "The file, ######, is in the wrong format"
  

Local fix

• Open the file in a text editor and save it as PC or ANSI rather
  than Unicode.  Amos 19 should now open the file correctly.

Problem conclusion

• Update to Amos 20 Fixpack 1. Please note that after applying the
  AMOS FixPack 1 you must save your amw file in AMOS 20 with Save
  As dialog as AMOS 5 Input File (*.amw). Then you will be able to
  open this path diagram file in AMOS 19.
