APAR status

Error description

  • A small COBOL/370 program has a working storage data item named
    NUM-GROUPS. In the procedure division, a MOVE 10 TO NUM-GROUPS
    is executed. If this program is executed using the CODE/370
    MFI, after the MOVE 10 TO NUM-GROUPS statement is executed, if
    a CODE/370 LIST NUM-GROUPS command is issued, then message
    EQA1456S The variable NUM-GROUPS is undefined or is incorrectly
    qualified is issued. This only happens if the COBOL/370 program
    is LINKED into an authorized dataset. Note!!!! LE/370 SCEERUN
    is not authorized, only the COBOL/370 application.
    Other items related to seeing this failure are that
    the COBOL/370 program is COMPILED with the RENT option,
    and the program is linked RENT, AMODE=24, and RMODE=24.

    If a COBOL program compiled with RENT is loaded in authorized
    area, either ABEND or incorrect result will occur when LIST
    command of Debug Tool is entered.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The SHUNT routine in IGZICA2 is incorrect. IGZICA2 is changed
    to fix the problem.
