    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: CICS TG fails to start if it is unable *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    While identifying the address or host name for statistics
    PH_SBINDTCP and PH_SBINDSSL, it was possible for a
    java.net.UnknownHostException to be returned when the host name
    could not be resolved.
    The UnknownHostException caused the affected protocol handler to
    fail to start. The exception also caused the Gateway daemon to
    fail to start.

Problem conclusion

  • CICS TG has been changed so that PH_SBINDTCP and PH_SBINDSSL
    statistics are set to the address that the relevant protocol
    handler is bound to.
