Error description

• Abstract:
  Rational Software Architect models version 8.0 and later with
  version 1.0 of the MSL Deployment profile cannot be uploaded to
  Design Management Serve 4.0.3. Before you place these models on
  the server, you must update the models with a newer version of
  the profile.
  
  
  Error Description:
  Rational Software Architect Extension for Design Management
  loads profiles from a connected server when local versions are
  older than the server versions. The MSL Deployment profile was
  modified in Rational Software Architect 9.0, and any version of
  Rational Software Architect Extension for Design Management uses
  the newer version of the profile if a connection is established
  to Design Management Server 4.0.3. As soon as a server
  connection is established, any attempt to open a top-level
  package in Rational Software Architect opens the profile
  migration window.
  
  If no migration occurs, an attempt to upload the model to Design
  Management 4.0.3 server leads to the following error:
  Package '?package name?' in project '?project name?' refers to
  the profile 'Deployment' of version 1.0 while the target project
  area is referring to version 2.0.
  
  If the migration was performed, you can upload the model to the
  server; however, the following error occurs if you attempt to
  open model elements without having established a connection to
  Design Management Server 4.0.3:
  Missing profile and/or profile versions: Unavailable version of
  the 'Deployment' profile is applied to the package '?package
  name?'.
  
  There is no functionality in Rational Software Architect to
  restore the reference to a previous version of the profile.
  
  WORKAROUND:
  Workaround 1:
  
      Use the import functionality to get an initial version of
  the model available on the server.
      Convert the project area into a project that is actively
  managed with Design Management.
      Ensure that the project uses the latest versions of the
  associated Rational Software Architect domains.
      Connect to the project from the Rational Software Architect
  Extension for Design Management.
  
  Workaround 2:
  
      Perform the migration.
      Ensure that there is an established connection to the Design
  Management Server every time the local version is edited.
