PM95643: THE TBCCONV UTILITY IS NOT RESETTING MIN OR MAX BYTES OF CONVERTED TREE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The tbcconv command utility in WTX 8.3 and 8.4 is not resetting
  the Bytes sizes. The resulting type tree has both Bytes sizes
  and Char Sizes.
  
  Comparing the converted tree with the original and the converted
  tree object ELEMENT > ComAgreementID has Min and Max bytes
  characters set to 1 and 35 respectively however the
  documentation indicates they should be 0.
  
  Infocenter says:
  
  When the tbcconv utility command is used without the -P option,
  only Text and Syntax items with values for Bytes specified for
  the Min and optionally Max properties will be converted to Min
  and Max Characters properties, and the Min and Max Bytes sizes
  will be reset, meaning that MinBytes size will be automatically
  set to 0, and the Max Bytes size will be set with no byte
  constraint. It does not affect Date & Time and Numberitems,
  which are sized according to the existing formats used.
  
  By leaving no value for the Min property under Bytes, the Min
  property will be automatically set to 0. By leaving no value for
  the Max property under Bytes, there will not be a byte
  constraint.
