Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED:                                              *
    * All administrators of a Worklight server.                    *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:                                         *
    * The Worklight server does not recover if the database server *
    * is restarted.  This problem will cause deployment and        *
    * un-deployment of applications and adapters to fail. If the   *
    * database that was restarted is also the reports database,    *
    * and if the Worklight server uses reports, every action that  *
    * is logged in the Worklight server reports will fail (login,  *
    * logout, invoke procedure, etc.).                             *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

    The problem occurred because the code that creates the db locks
    did not make sure that unlock is called if an error occurs.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The code was fixed so that the unlock occurs even if there is an
    error interacting with the database.
    
    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for fixpack 5.0.6.2
    and is available in fixpack 6.0.0.1.
