QRadar: RPM differences between the console and managed host

Question & Answer

Question

Why is there a difference in the RPM packages for DSMs and PROTOCOLs between your Console and Managed hosts?

Answer

The difference in RPM's between the Console and any Managed host is not a concern. The Console usually receives the latest rpm packages during Auto-Updates each day. However, the Managed host only contains packages that were present when QRadar was originally installed on that system. The RPM installs jar files on the Console. These jar files are then replicated to the managed hosts when changes are deployed. As long as the system is replicating the jar files, the difference between RPM's on the Console or Managed host should not be a concern.
