Error description

  • For form-based report output IMS PA uses the report length to
determine the LRECL of the resultant output. If the report is
being written to a pre-allocated output file, or to an output
file with a user-defined LRECL then that LRECL will be used
regardless of the actual report width. If there is no output
DDname specified in the job, then IMS PA dynamically allocates
the output file with a default LRECL which may be smaller than
the required report output, resulting in the report being
truncated. IMS PA needs to identify these dynamically allocated
report files and, where necessary, change the default LRECL.

    ****************************************************************
IMS PA form-based report output greater than 133 bytes may be
    truncated.
For form-based report output IMS PA uses the report length to
determine the LRECL of the resultant output.
If the report is being written to a pre-allocated output file,
or to an output file with a user-defined LRECL then that LRECL
will be used regardless of the actual report width. If there
is no output DDname specified in the job, then IMS PA
dynamically allocates the output file with a default LRECL
which may be smaller than the report output, resulting in the
report being truncated. IMS PA needs to identify these
dynamically allocated report files and, where necessary, change
    the default LRECL.

Problem conclusion

  • If the report output is dynamically allocated by IMS PA
processing, then the report length will be used to determine the
required LRECL of the result, rather than using the default
LRECL=133 from the dynamic allocation process.
