Error description
You are running CICS Transaction server 4.2 and receive the following messages: DFHAP1301 Language Environment has detected a corruption of its control blocks. DFHSM0102 A storage violation (code X'0D11') has been detected by module DFHSMMF. DFHAP0001 An abend code (0C4/AKEA) has occurred at offset x'FFFFFFFF' in module xxxxxx. DFHDS0002 A severe error (code X'0204') has occurred in module DFHDSTCB There was also a KERNDUMP taken. Tasks were then stuck in RESUMED EARLY status. The tasks abending are running on an L8 tcb, as they are defined concurrency- threadsafe and openapi. When the program check occurs, DFHAPLI1 calls DFHMEME to issue message dfhap1301. DFHMEME calls the dump domain to take a dump on the message, and needs lock DUSYSDMP which is owned by another task. When DFHDSSR is called to suspend this task, it finds it is in an incorrect state- RUNNING_ABTERM_ALLOWED, causing the DS0002 error and the task to be stuck in resumed early status. Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS users. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: After a program_check_recovery call to * * LE a task fails to suspend and message * * DFHDS0002 is issued. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** A task encounters a program check because of storage violation. It calls the LE interface for program_check_recovery, but receives return code of 8 indicating that the LE control blocks have been overlaid. AP1301 is issued to report this situation, and take a dump but the DUSYSDMP lock is held by another task. The task fails to suspend because it is in state RUNNING_ABTERM_ALLOWED and DS0002 is issued for this failure. keywords: msgDFHAP1301 msgDFHDS0002
Problem conclusion
DFHAPLI1 has been changed to switch to correct task state after receiving return code 8 from LE for program check recovery.
