TM1 Server MaximumViewSize Parameter

Question & Answer

Question

This Technote provides importand details about the MaximumViewSize parameter in the tm1s.cfg file. This parameter can be used to limit the maximum view size that a user can open in the TM1 clients (Architect, Perspectives, TM1Web, pmpsvc). A limit should be set on the view size that user can open to limit the amount of memory used by the TM1 Server. Large views could potential cause the TM1 Server to require more memory than is available as phyiscal RAM on the system running TM1. This could lead to performance issues or a TM1 Server crash. The information in this Technote is also accurate for TM1 Server 10.2, 10.2.2 and the TM1 Server from Planning Analytics 2.0, 2.0.1, and 2.0.2.
