Error description
An ALTER batch job was run on member A. eg ALTER TABLE ADF.ADF_LOG_LOB ROTATE PARTITION FIRST TO LAST ENDING AT ('yyyy-mm-dd') RESET; Then intermittently an abend occurred with title: DSN ABND 04E 00C90101 U=userid M=(N) C=910 DMC DSNIISRT M=DSNTFRCV LOC DSNOLLM DSNOALLO 5006 . The abend occurred because the last used high level space map according to the LOB table space header page is x'00000001' . However the LSD , Lob Space Descriptor in dump storage showed it as x'5EFE11'. It looks like the LSD value was not updated.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All DB2 V9 and V10 z/OS users of LOB table * * space and ALTER ROTATE PARTITION * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: ABEND04E RC00C90101 DSNOALLO ERQUAL5006 * * after ALTER TABLE ROTATE * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The last used high level space map page is cached by each data sharing member during the physical open of the LOB table space. This cached value is used to validate the correct space map page number during the extend of the high level space map page. It is also being reset to the the first high level space map page during the ALTER ROTATE PARTITION operation. However, this value is only reset on the member that operates ALTER ROTATE PARTITION and not other data sharing members. As the result, the subsequent extend of the high level space map, will trigger DSNOALLO: 5006 sanity check on any other data sharing member. In this case, it is a false detection.
Problem conclusion
DB2 code is modified to remove this sanity check.
