Error description
In openstack it is already documented, that you can not modify existing flavors and you have to create new ones. The openstack docu is referenced in the SCO infocenter at several places. The SCO infocenter also describes how to create a new flavor in openstack here: http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/tivihelp/v48r1/topic/com.ibm.s co.doc_2.2/dd/mp/mpc_flavor.html. However this description is in the virtual System section only. We also should refer to that description in the virtual Application section.

Problem conclusion
Text was added in section 'Deploying virtual application patterns' in SmartCloud Orchestrator 2.2 Installation and Administration Guide Added text: Note: If the deployment process is stopped and in the Virtual Application Instances window the flavor error message is displayed, you must create a flavor with memory, vCPUs, and storage values equal to or greater than the requirements of the virtual machines that you are deploying. For information about creating flavors, see Creating new flavors in OpenStack. After you created the new flavor, delete the virtual application instance and redeploy the virtual application pattern.
