Significant Delays in Receiving Email Notification for Work Item Updates

Problem

Users are seeing significant delays in receiving email notifications for changes to work items in IBM Rational Team Concert (RTC) when using Microsoft Exchange as their SMTP server.

Symptom

Email notification is delayed several hours or more. No delay is evident in the email header, nor in sending a test email from Jazz Team Server (JTS).
