Product Lifecycle
Abstract
Effective November 12, 2015, IBM will withdraw support for the following part numbers licensed under the IBM International Program License Agreement.
Content
For the better part of the past year, we have been reviewing our mobile strategy. This has included discussions with market analysts, customers, and IBM Services and Sales. We've believe that our customers mobile learning needs could better be served if they were native capabilities in our products rather than a stand-alone product or a bolt-on application. Mobile support should be native to any enterprise learning solution, which means content delivery should be supported on any device in a manner that's optimal for each device.
To that end, we are planning to significantly bolster the mobile capabilities native to the LCMS. This will enable LCMS customers to deliver their existing learning content on any device in a responsive manner, optimized for each device. This is a logical extension of the single-source content strategy that has been built into the DNA of the LCMS since its inception. Customers will no longer need to author mobile content separately from e-learning content, or publish their content specifically for mobile delivery. Mobile support will be native to the LCMS.
As a result of this plan, IBM is sunsetting the Hot Lava Mobile product. The formal announcement was published on May 12, 2015. We are diligently working with each individual active Hot Lava Mobile customers to develop an optimal plan to migrate away from Hot Lava Mobile to a more appropriate alternative to support their mobile requirements moving forward.
