APAR status

  • Closed as duplicate of another APAR.

Error description

  • On z/OS, when using the nohup command to block hangup
signals (SIGHUPs) to a java program, the JVM incorrectly
picks up the signal & exits.

Local fix

  • The JVM was not correctly checking the SIG_IGN value as set
by nohup. The code has been changed in the codebase and the fix
    will be available in SR18.
Also, using the -Xrs option on the java command
    may bypass the problem.
