How to address SLM Peering problems caused by a hash mismatch (0x80e002a2)

Problem

Peer groups enable the exchange of SLM data among a group of DataPower Gateways.
When creating the membership list, include the current instance.
To exchange SLM data at periodic interval, peer members must:
  • Have identical SLM configurations, including the members list, the Peer Group, the IP Multicast object (name and config).
  • Use the XML Management Interface to exchange data as SOAP over HTTPS. The new information is aggregated in the information store of each peer member.
  • Be clock-synchronized. You can use the NTP service.
  • Use the same packet transmission method, either SLM unicast peering or SLM multicast peering.

When the SLM configuration between the peers are not identical, a hash mismatch occurs.

Symptom

The SLM policy for the peer group will not function properly. A similar exception can be observed in the error report:
