PQ49389: LOGON TO IMS FAILED WITH EMS1333E / EMS1334E WITH VT=YES.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• logon to IMS failed with msgEMS1333E / msgEMS1334E with VT=yes.
  A relay mode session is set up to IMS application with VT=Y,
  mod3 terminal type and requested logmode ext32783.
  IMS determines that the alternate screen size is larger then the
  primary and changes the bind to reflect that the primary screen
  size to be used is the same as the alternate screen size
  requested. IMS resetted the query bit.
  IMS send the first screen image as a alternate screen in
  an Erase Write Alternate. It includes a SBA x'115e40' = 25/01.
  NVAS changes 3270 WCC from the Erase Write Alernate x'7e' to
  an Erase Write  x'F5' and send the screen image to the physical
  terminal primary screen.
  This is rejected with sense 10050000 and EMS1333e.
  Reselecting IMS gets EMS1334e and after clear key IMS resend
  panel with x'7E' and now NVAS send it to the real terminal with
  x'7E' too and it works.

  terminal primary screen.
  This is rejected with sense 10050000 and msg EMS1333E at users'
  screen.
  After reselecting the appl msg EMS1334E appears.

Problem conclusion

• A check has been added for the default and the alternate
  screen size.
  In the case they are different (both < or >) then it is setted
  to ON the bit in the ridt. If they are equal then this bit is
  left to OFF.
  This bit shows whether the primary screen size
  of the pseudo terminal relay session has been switched or
  changed.
  Then if this bit is setted to ON it has been notified that
  it has not to be changed the screen image from the EWA to EW.
