    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    10 instances of error message calls send the parameters to the
    message catalog in the wrong order.
    This resulted in the juxtaposition of string and numerical data.
    Since these data are of differing lengths, the call to the error
    logging subsystem resulted in an abend of the queue manager.
    The error messages in question are only called under serious
    system errors (opening, stat-ing, reading a file that has
    already been successfully served) and they are not easily
    reproducible or testable except under highly unusual system
    conditions.

Problem conclusion

  • The calls to the error logging routines were modifed in the code
    itself in order to correlate them with the expected syntax
    listed in the message catalog. All changes were within the
    source file HTIPC.c.

    The following COMPID's are affected by these changes:
    5697D4300 LDGW for OS/390 Version 5 (release 1 and higher)

    The code changes are stored in CMVC under defect PQ37673
