APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Source MAC address for OSA ATM device is zeroes
  ( 000000000000 ) in hardware header. It should contain the home
  hardware address obtained at device start up.

  The source MAC address on outbound ARP requests was set to
  zero.  The ARP packet itself had the correct address.
  

Problem conclusion

• Changes were made to the TCP/IP ARP code.
  The source MAC address is now filled in with the MAC address
  for the interface in outbound ARP requests.
