    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    C++ programs link-edited with OS/390 R2 (with PN85059 applied
    and bringing in the OpenEditon signature CSECT EDCOSG03) will
    experience a problem where constructors/destructors are not
    executed when run on the OS/390 R2 platform. This is because
    the OpenEdition signature version was changed to 3, but the C
    initialization code still tested for version 2 when looking to
    see if C++ existed in the module. This test is what triggers
    the execution of the static C++ constructors/destructors. The
    failure to run the constructors/destructors may cause various
    problems with the user's applications.

Problem conclusion

  • Testing of OpenEdition Signature CSECT will be corrected.
