Question & Answer
Question
What is the recommended batch size when using CEBI?
Answer
For performance optimization and recoverability in the event of an error, IBM recommends limiting batch sizes to no more than 5,000 documents at a time. Specifically, this means that for every 5,000 documents, there should be a distinct .eob and transact.dat.
CEBI runs as a transaction represented as a single .eob and the corresponding transact.dat. If a transaction fails, the entire transaction is rolled back. By limiting the batch size to 5,000, recovery is much faster in the event of errors such as memory (heap) exhaustion or network errors.
