"Compatibility Checker ... The system cannot find the file specified at" when using "Reports - Run" if close the sheet (in Excel) during the generation process

Troubleshooting


Problem

User launches the main Controller program (CCR.EXE). User clicks "Reports - Run" and chooses selections. User clicks "Send to application". Message #1 appears. User clicks "continue". The initial part of the report appears in Excel. User deliberately clicks on the 'X' (close) button, to close the Excel sheet *instead of* clicking on the green 'tick' button (for 'File Format of Report'). User clicks "Don't Save". Afterwards, the user clicks the green 'tick' button (for "File Format of Report"). An error appears.
