Error description

  • If multiple interfaces have IP addresses on the same subnet
and the first interface is down, communications to other
addresses in the subnet may fail. tcpdump or iptrace/ipreport
will show that the source IP address chosen was from the
interface that is down.

Problem conclusion


    

  • The code that chooses the source address for TCP connections
was updated to try to find an address that is from an interface
that is up if it initially finds an address from an interface
that is down.
