Error description

  • This info apar describes a specific scenerio.  IOS002A may
    be rec'd for other situations involving Ficon CTC's.  Please
    be sure the verification steps are followed prior to
    concluding that this apar describes the situation.
    Verification Steps:
    1) SFM is not enabled.
    2) Vary XCF
    3) Reply Sysname
    4) Get IXC102A or IXC402D on other system
    5) De-activate image.
    6) Reply DOWN to IXC102A or IXC402D
    7) Get WAIT0A2 on system that is getting partitioned out.
    System that remains IPL'd rec'd:
    IEF196I IOS071I 0C31,0C,XCFAS, HALT SUBCHANNEL INTERRUPT MISSING
    IOS071I 0C31,0C,XCFAS, HALT SUBCHANNEL INTERRUPT MISSING 119

    .
    Conclusion:  If the deactivate is done prior to the system
    reset systems that remain IPL'd may experience msg's for the
    CTC's that are connected to the deactivated images.
    

Local fix

  • Either enable SFM or:
    1) Vary XCF
    2) Reply Sysname
    3) Get IXC102A or IXC402D on other system
    4) INSTEAD of De-Activate here do RESET NORMAL.
    5) Reply DOWN to IXC102A or IXC402D
