Error description
This Informational APAR describes new functions in DFSMSrmm delivered via APAR. It is a continuation of II10888. COMP: 5695DF186 For more information please see our internet page at: http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=0&uid=isg3T1010391 ---------------------------------------------------------------- 04/09/09 OA08064 UA13642 1G0 The new function provides better UA13643 1GB DFSMSrmm protection against tape UA13644 1GC erasure and enables DFSMSrmm move UA13645 1H0 command authority. New RACF UA13646 1HB entities allow better security UA13647 1HC granularity so you can avoid UA13648 1J0 CONTROL access to UA13649 1JB STGADMIN.EDG.MASTER in daily tasks. UA13650 1JC For further information refer to parts EDGDOC shipped with this APAR. ---------------------------------------------------------------- 04/10/29 OA09171 UA14643 1F0 This fix provides an alternate UA14644 1G0 approach to supporting virtual tape UA14645 1H0 products that emulate scratch tape UA14646 1J0 mounts by presenting null HDR1 tape labels to the system. To avoid EDG4026I the virtual tape product can issue the subcommand: RMM CHANGEVOLUME volser INIT(Y) CRLSE(INIT) via the DFSMSrmm API at scratch mount time or it can now include the CL13'VirtualSCRTCH' character string in the System Code field of the HDR1 to confirm that no HDR1 DSNAME checking is to be performed by DFSMSrmm. ---------------------------------------------------------------- 05/10/11 OA11903 UA21543 1G0 For every tape that is created, UA21544 1H0 DFSMSrmm now always builds UA21545 1J0 a sticky label, but only prints UA21546 1K0 the label by default when a DISPDDNAME entry requests the label. In any other cases EDGUX100 can be used to request the label is printed. DISPDDNAME in parmlib can be used to identify the OUTPUT statement in the DFRMM started procedure. You no longer need to use DISPDDNAME DD in each batch job to trigger labels ---------------------------------------------------------------- 05/10/24 OA11366 UA90192 1G0 This APAR is part of the full UA90193 1GB function support for the new UA90194 1GC D/T3592 Model E05 which includes UA90195 1H0 support for the existing 3592 media UA90196 1HB types (MEDIA5 - MEDIA8) and support UA90197 1HC for a new recording format EFMT2. Also included with this APAR is software support for two new extended length 3592 tape cartridges (with the physical media available in the future). The new media will only be supported on z/OS V1R5 and above. MEDIA9 - extended length R/W media (capacity TBD with the physical media available in the future) MEDIA10 - extended length WORM media (capacity TBD with the physical media available in the future) The full function support is active only when the enabling APAR is applied. For z/OS V1R4 and z/OS V1R5 see enabling APAR OA11388. Planned availability for z/OS V1R6 and z/OS V1R7 is year end 2005. See "z/OS DFSMS Software Support for IBM TotalStorage Enterprise Tape System 3592" (SC26-7514-02) for details on the software support for the D/T3592 Model E05. ---------------------------------------------------------------- 06/10/27 OA15698 UA90314 1J0 These APARs are the part of the UA90315 1JB full function support for the UA90316 1JC enhanced D/T3592 Model E05 UA90317 1K0 encryption support. UA90318 1KB The new recording format EEFMT2 is UA90319 1KC supported: 06/11/10 OA17574 UA90320 180 EEFMT2 - Data has been written to UA90321 18E the volume in Enterprise Encrypted UA90322 18K Format 2 recording format. 07/02/07 OA18122 UA90357 1G0 Four new data elements on the RMM UA90358 1GB volume record are supported: UA90359 1GC KEYLABEL1 - Key encryption key UA90360 1H0 label 1 UA90361 1HB KEYENCODE1 - Key encoding mechanism UA90362 1HC for key 1 (Label or Hash) KEYLABEL2 - Key encryption key label 2 KEYENCODE2 - Key encoding mechanism for key 2 (Label or Hash) The full function support is active only when the enabling APARs OA15685 and OA17562 are applied. See "z/OS DFSMS Software Support for IBM TotalStorage Enterprise Tape System 3592" (SC26-7514-03) for details of the encryption- capable TS1120 tape drive ---------------------------------------------------------------- 06/11/22 OA18455 UA30637 1J0 This APAR prevents DFSMSrmm from UA30638 1K0 setting the PENDING RELEASE ACTION UA30639 180 INIT flag, when a 'servo track format error' is detected. The tape is not blocked any more by DFSMSrmm with the message: EDG4033I VOLUME xxxxxx REJECTED.  THE VOLUME IS WAITING TO BE REINITIALIZED. ---------------------------------------------------------------- 07/04/09 OA13370 UA33439 1K0 This APAR provides support for UA33440 1KB different types of media and an UA33441 1KC interface that enables media UA33442 180 information to be determined and UA33443 18E set dynamically. The interface is UA33444 18K easily customizable for different library environments. This APAR allows non-IBM media types and recording formats to be defined to DFSMSrmm. 1. Capability to define media information such as media type, recording format, and media capacity. 2. New DFSMSrmm parmlib command MEDINF. 3. New RMM TSO subcommand ADDVOLUME and CHANGEVOLUME operand MEDINF. 4. New EDGUX300 installation exit. 5. New messages EDG3359E and EDG4057I. ---------------------------------------------------------------- 08/08/21 OA22132 UA90451 1K0 This APAR is part of the full UA90452 1KB function support for the new IBM UA90453 1KC System Storage TS1130 Tape Drive UA90454 180 (the D/T3592 Model E06) which UA90455 18E includes support for the existing UA90456 18K 3592 media types (MEDIA5 - MEDIA10) UA90457 190 and support for two new recording UA90458 19K formats EFMT3 (enterprise format 3) UA90459 A10 and EEFMT3 (enterprise encrypted UA90460 AK0 format 3). The 3592 Model E06 is also downward read and write compatible with recording formats (EFMT2 and EEFMT2) and is downward read compatible with EFMT1. The full function support is active only when the enabling APAR OA22119 is applied. See "z/OS DFSMS Software Support for IBM System Storage TS1130 and TS1120 Tape Drives (3592)" (SC26-7514-04) for detaild on the software support for the D/T3592 Model E06. ---------------------------------------------------------------- 08/11/20 OA24970 UA90495 180 This APAR is part of the full UA90496 190 function support for Release 1.5 of UA90497 A10 the TS7700 Virtualization Engine product family which includes enhancements to the D/T3957 Model V06 (TS7740 Virtualization Engine) and support for the new D/T3957 Model VEA (TS7720 Virtualization Engine). Refer to OAM APAR (OA24966) for additional information on this support. DFSMSrmm provides support for the Copy Export feature of the TS7740 Virtualization Engine (3957-V06), enhanced low-on-scratch detection and the EDGSPLCS utility, to issue commands to OAM, now supports concurrent processing of a list of volumes within the same library. See "z/OS DFSMSrmm Implementation and Customization Guide SC26-7405-08" for details. ---------------------------------------------------------------- 08/12/02 OA26608 UA44741 180 The IBM Health Checker for z/OS now UA44742 190 includes checks for DFSMSrmm. These checks are designed to help you determine if DFSMSrmm is correctly configured and is consistent with IBM's recommendations. At DFSMSrmm subsystem start-up, once the subsystem is fully established, DFSMSrmm dynamically adds its exit routine to the HZSADDCHECK exit and dynamically adds/updates the supported migration and health checks. Also, any time that DFSMSrmm subsystem is stopped or refreshed, the checks are deleted so that no further health check processing can be run until DFSMSrmm is restarted successfully. The DFSMSrmm migration and health checks require that both Health Checker and System Rexx are configured and active. The checks are shipped as compiled Rexx and can run under either the Library for Rexx on zSeries or the Alternate Library for Rexx on zSeries. These Health Checks are shipped INACTIVE, and must be ACTIVATEd to run. To use these Health Checks for DFSMSrmm migration purposes, follow these instructions: 1.Install this PTF, and restart or IPL the system as indicated in the ++HOLD for RESTART or IPL. 2.ACTIVATE these checks. There are many ways to activate a check, such as through SDSF or a MODIFY command. You may use wildcards to ACTIVATE checks, if you wish. To ACTIVATE the checks using the MODIFY command issue: MODIFY HZSPROC,ACTIVATE,CHECK= (IBM,ZOSMIGV1R10_RMM_*) 3.Review the Health Check output. Re-run as appropriate. 4.If you wish to DEACTIVATE this check, you may use this MODIFY command: MODIFY HZSPROC,DEACTIVATE,CHECK= (IBM,ZOSMIGV1R10_RMM_*) Refer to EDGDOC/EDGDOCS for additional information on the support being provided by DFSMSrmm with this APAR. ---------------------------------------------------------------- 08/12/15 OA26592 UA44930 180 DFSMSrmm now allows to turn off the UA44931 190 function that uses the successful UA44929 A10 IGNORE authorization to change SAF return code 8 (not authorized) to 0. A new flag which can be turned on in EDGUX100 is introduced for this.
