  • Customer upgrades to Z/OS 1.3, when doing stacking of files
on magstar tapes emulating 3490 he is getting msgIOS000I -
0470,CR,FEN,1F,0600,, **,VOLSER 1244204705BBD9205030
(B310000000000000)0000 (50001FFF)  CE0F0F94597800FF
PERMANENT ERROR-VOLUME  FENCED, msgIEC147I -
613-14 IFG0196T.   In logrec he is getting a unit check on his
3590. All the failing drives  are behind this one A60 controller
at microcode level  1.15.11.3.  This microcode bug is fixed in
"PFE level A60 Code 1.15.11.5 or greater.
