Error description

  • HSM abars job receives the following sequence of messages and a
613-0C when oem product Sunrise is tracking the abars processing

When the same aggregrate (dsn list) is run WITHOUT Sunrise
tracking the ABARS processing, the job runs successfully.
When it does fail, the tape management system is consistently
intercepting the OPEN.
.
All CA tape management products have an EDM ( External Data
Management) facility. To use this facility a program name and
data set name are defined.  When using Sunrise, the program
SUNBAC attaches the actual backup utility. When CA's EDM code
checks the program name it finds SUNBAC rather than the actual
backup utility, resulting in the abend.

Local fix

  • If using the EDM facility with the Sunrise product from
Panorama Software, a program name of SUNBAC needs to be defined.
