Error description

  • PROBLEM 1:
After defining a switch to HCD error msg's may
be received when creating a production IODF. The procedure to
correct the error situations are as follows:
    1) CBDG065I MSGCBDG065I The switch control unit XXX of switch
yy has no channel path attached via the switch.
     a) Using HCD on the Define Channel Path panel specify a
dynamic switch, entry switch and port. On this panel the
port specification refers to the entry port.

                          Dyn + --Entry +--
/ CHPID Type + Mode + Switch Switch Port Con.
    _ 20 CNC DED 01 01 C2
    .
      2) CBDG060I A switch and port must be specified for control
unit xxxx to connect the control unit to channel path yy
         of processor bbbbb.

    a) In this case the switch and port information must be
filled in using the Change Control Unit Definition Panel.
Action code 'c' on the Control Unit List panel will take
you to the Change Control Unit Definition panel.
    Connected to switches . . . 01 __ __ __ __ __ __ __ +
    Ports . . . . . . . . . . . D7 __ __ __ __ __ __ __ +
    .
In this case the Port specification is the port to which the
    control unit will be attached.

    PROBLEM 2:
CBDA260I Device type 9032 not supported by os type MVS.
MSGCBDG154I CBDG154I No switch information is available
MSGCBDG150I CBDG150I No Switch Information Table (SIT)
                         found for switch type
The above messages are received when trying to define a
    d/t9033 or d/t9032 in HCD.
Customers need to have FMID HSWF100 installed. This is
the FMID for ESCON Director Device Support. For a 9033
model 3 (9033-3) OW08540 is required. This FMID is orderable
as a feature of MVS. The Feature number is 5872.
Note: In order to use the 9032 or 9033 it is not necessary
to define the switch CU and IODEVICE in your IODF.
Thus if the Escon Director Device support FMID is
not installed devices that are attached to an
ESCON director will be accessable via MVS even if
the switch CU and IODEVICE are not defined at that
time. However, the CHPID and Control Unit's must
be modified in the IODF to include switch number and
link address. Once the switch is defined in the IODF
additional error reporting and validation will be
available. See HCD Primer for additional information.

PROBLEM3: CBDG149I-port range for installed ports outside
range of supported ports. Error received when user tries to
set the installed port range from C0-FB to 80-FB. UW21164
will add new port ranges. The user must be sure to select
    the correct switch type.
