    This information APAR contains definitions of several LAN
    return codes that were not available when OW00297 for VTAM
    V4R1 and OY64182 for VTAM V3R4 were written.  Those APARs
    document new messages MSGIST1411I, MSGIST1412I. and
    MSGIST1430I.  Refer to those APARs or to the PTF cover
    letter for the APAR for your VTAM release.  The messages
    are also in the VTAM V4R2 Messages and Codes, Chapter 12.
    Several LAN return codes are defined with a x'FF' in the
    first byte.  These return codes were not specifically
    associated with the return code categories defined in
    OW00297 or OY64182.  They are documented here and will be
    included in the VTAM Messages and Codes in the future.
  OTHER LAN RETURN CODES:
  
    o   CODE FF02 - Duplicate command - This completion code
        is returned if a connect request is received for a
        link station, while a previous connect request is
        still in process.
    o   CODE FF0C - Command cancelled, invalid version number
        - This completion code is returned if the primitive
        contained an invalid version number.
    o   CODE FF4C
        Sequence error - This completion code is returned if
        a Deactivate_SAP or close request is received, while
        other SAP or link commands are still in process.
        Wait for the commands to complete, then re-issue the
        close request.
    o   CODE FF4F - Invalid remote address - This completion
        code is returned, if an OPEN_STATION request is re-
        ceived with the remote MAC address parameter high bit
        of the high byte set to 1.  This indicates a group
        address.  A group address is not allowed to be speci-
        fied for this command.
  
        VTAM Hint:  If you are running VTAM V4R2, a possible
        cause of code FF4F is that DLCADDR is specified in the
        definition for a D/T3172.  The 3172 does not currently
        support DLCADDR.  DLCADDR is a VTAM V4R2 parameter on
        the PATH definition statement for a switched major node.
    o   Code FF76 - A frame reject (FRMR) was sent to the DSPU.
        The FRMR sent is the result of either:
          - MAC frame invalid control field.
          - I-field contains data that is not valid for that
            control field; for example, an I-field was included
            in a SABME.
          - The received I-field length exceeds the buffer
            capacity of the receiver.
          - LPDU control field sequence number error.
          - the FRMR response I-field is not 5 bytes in length.
