Troubleshooting
Problem
The Internet Service Monitoring Configuration GUI in the 7.4 release may be slow to perform Resync with a high number of profile elements.
Symptom
The ISM Configuration GUI in the 7.4 and 7.4 IFIX 3 releases may be slow when performing operations with a high number (e.g. greater than a 1000) of profile elements. An APAR (IV55810: ISM Config GUI is very slow when there are MANY Profiles) has been raised to fix these issues and 7.4.0.0-TIV-CAMIS-TF0019 is available from L2 that significantly improves performance across a range of operations. Performance of ISM Config GUI operations also improves significantly by running the desktop client locally.
However, even with Test Fix 19 and running on the desktop client, resyncing all profile elements where there are a large number of elements may take more than 10 minutes. The steps below show how to significantly improve the performance of these operations.
Note: Resync Agent should only be used as a last resort if a problem occurs. The Resync Agent button clears out the profiles and resends all the deployed profiles to the agent. Use the Resync Agent button when the agent is out of sync and requires cleaning out of the profiles. The Apply button ensures that all recent changes are saved to the database and if required, sent to the agent. The OK button is the same as pressing Apply and then Closing the window. Use either the Apply or OK buttons in normal operation.
