The SMP install logic for these new code page FMIDs took ownership from whatever product previously had it by versioning the old FMIDs. The code pages are provided this way in AFP Font Collection, PSF/MVS, and with fonts provided with OS/390. . If you have a case where one of these products is being installed in tandem with one or more of the older font LPs, such as Sonoran Serif, Sonoran Sans Serif, APL2, etc., it is best to install the older product first, then AFP Font Collection, OS/390, etc.. This allows the new code page FMIDs to take ownership of the code pages. If this is not done you will get Not Selected errors on some of the code pages during the install process. However, since code pages are not changed and remain the same regardless of the products providing them, the Not Selected errors can be ignored. *************************************************************** SECTION H 2/25/2008 Customer indicated that the number ' 4 ' in OCR-A font A0A is lighter than the other numbers. They were printing using this font in both 300 and 600 pel resolutions. Testing results prove the number 4 definitions appeared 20 25 % thinner than the other numbers. Where the other numbers had a width of 5 pels, the number 4 had a width of 4 pels. Where the other numbers had a width of 4 pels, the number 4 had a width of 3 pels. Solution: The numeric character' 4 ' was lighter in the original fonts X0AOD, X0AOA and X0AON, and rather than changing the font (which might cause problems for other users), the newer X01AOD, X01AOA and X01AON coded fonts were created. You should find these in your library along with the character set C0L01AOA that is used with these fonts. The code page is the same as the one in the current font. **************************************************************** Section I 2013/10/30 When installing the following font products on a z/OS V2.1 system, customers may receive " Not Sel " messages for some code page parts.
