vMDM Web Services application could not authenticate using mdmadmin

Troubleshooting


Problem

Infosphere Master Data Managment (MDM) - Web Services application could not authenticate to the MDM Operational Server using the mdmadmin WebSphere User ID. The mdmadmin user could not authenticate to the Operation Server using the SDK examples.

Symptom

The mdmadmin user id was created by a third party in a WebSphere Federated repository. vMDM Web Services application could not authenticate to the MDM Operational Server using the mdmadmin WebSphere User ID. The mdmadmin User ID was visible in the WebSphere Console under "Manage Users".

The following error appears in the WebSphere SystemOut.log:

[1/31/14 11:51:35:258 EST] 000000f7 LTPAServerObj E SECJ0369E: Authentication failed when using LTPA. The exception is com.ibm.websphere.wim.exception.PasswordCheckFailedException: CWWIM4529E The password verification for the 'mdmadmin' principal name failed. Root cause: 'javax.naming.AuthenticationException: [LDAP: error code 49 - 80090308: LdapErr: DSID-0C090334, comment: AcceptSecurityContext error, data 52e, vece^@]; Resolved object: 'com.sun.jndi.ldap.LdapCtx@bdca4f6''..

The following error appears in the WebSphere SystemErr.log:

[1/31/14 11:51:35:883 EST] 000000f6 SystemErr R ROW:rowSetString: truncated from 36 to 16 characters.
[1/31/14 11:51:36:076 EST] 000000f6 SystemErr R 01-31-14 11:51:36.76 ContextPool newContext - AuthUserOK failed: mdmadmin

The mdmadmin user could not authenticate to the Operation Server using the SDK examples.
