APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When use_isno is turned off, ifconfig prints error
messages
related to changing ISNO even though none are submitted
as command options. The message text is

ioctl (set interface options): The socket does not allow
the
requested operation.

The functionality of the ifconfig command is not affected
by this error.

Local fix

  • Set use_isno to 1.

Problem summary

  • Ifconfig command gives unwanted error messages
when use_isno is turned off.

Problem conclusion

  • put a condition in ifconfig file to check ISNO option
is enabled or not if not enabled dont execute ISNO calls.
