NOTE: This APAR does not apply if you have not deployed PowerHA 7.1 clusters or using AIX Cluster Aware AIX. . AIX 2010 releases (AIX 6.1 TL06 and AIX 7.1 TL00) contained first version of Cluster Aware AIX (CAA) component which provides for core clustering primitives. Some parts of this component have been modified to address key issues and also to provide enhanced capabilities.

Problem conclusion
It is highly recommended that customers update the Cluster Aware AIX component in their infrastructure per this APAR. . This update requires a cluster wide outage and requires the CAA cluster to be removed prior to the update and remade afterwards. Note that if PowerHA is being used, cluster information is saved by PowerHA to assist in redeploying the CAA cluster underneath. . For safety, the update will fail to apply if it detects any active cluster. .
