Recovering when the default certificate is inadvertently deleted in TIP

Question & Answer

Question

The default certificate in Tivoli Integrated Portal was mistakenly deleted. The systemOut log shows the following error: CWPKI0024E: The certificate alias "default" ... is not found in KeyStore... What is the process to recover the certificate?

Answer

  1. Disable security using the instructions in the following technical note:
    https://www-304.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21499504
  2. Access the Websphere Admin console directly using the instructions found in the following technical note:
    http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21618872
  3. Security > SSL certificates and key management > keystores and certificates > NodeDefaultKeyStore > Personal Certificates
Click: Create > New Self-Signed Certificate.
When creating the self-signed certificate make sure the "alias" specified matches the alias in the error in the systemOut log.
  4. Save the configuration.
  5. Enable security as directed in the technical note in step 1.
  6. Restart TIP, and verify the TIP login page loads.
