Troubleshooting
Problem
The DataPower appliance has been configured to send log messages to an SMTP/Email server using a log target. Sending of the email fails due to DataPower not being able to connect to the SMTP server.
Symptom
Messages similar to the following will be logged:
[network][debug] xmlmgr(default): tid(893892): Attempting TCP connect to [IP/Host_SMTP_Server]
[network][error] xmlmgr(default): tid(893892): cannot connect to host '[IP/Host_SMTP_Server]:25': returning error
[network][error] logging target(emailpager_logtarget): tid(893892): Error occurred (port error) when connecting to URL 'smtp://[IP/Host_SMTP_Server]:25/?Recpt=dpl2%40someaddress.com&Sender=mysender%40dp.someaddress.com&Domain=someaddress.com&Subject=[DataPower-deviceName][critic][system]+Event+Notification&MIME=false'
[network][error] logging target(emailpager_logtarget): tid(893892): Connection error(5) at 'smtp://[IP/Host_SMTP_Server]:25/?Recpt=dpl2%40someaddress.com&Sender=mysender%40dp.someaddress.com&Domain=someaddress.com&Subject=[DataPower-deviceName][critic][system]+Event+Notification&MIME=false'
Also, there will be no network packets sent to the SMTP server (IP/Host_SMTP_Server]:25).
