How do you download or export at once all the artifacts from a folder in IBM Rational Requirements Composer, RRC, for example Use Case diagrams?
Cause
You want to store design documents in an alternative location, where you do not have access to the application. When you have many artifacts, you want a bulk method of downloading and exporting. You should do it the same way you export individual artifacts through the print and save as PDF or Word document function.
Answer
To download or export all the artifacts from a folder using only RRC for this operation, you have the following options. You can export and download into in a single Word or PDF file.
OPTION #1
Create a collection based on the folder contents and export that to Word or PDF;
OPTION #2
- Create a view that is filtered on Folder content.
- Save this view.
- Use the drop down menu to create your report, for example a 'Requirement Specification' type of report, This gives you more control on the content of the output.
OPTION #3 WITH IBM RATIONAL PUBLISHING ENGINE (RPE)
Use RPE in combination with the REST API. This provides more options. The paginating option is a possibility, See the following document on jazz.net.
