Error description

  • When a higher priority path recovers after failure the

Local fix

  • Change the path priority to force them to be
    re-evaluated.
    e.g. if vscsi0 has priority = 1 and vscsi1 has priority =
    2,
and vscsi0 is not getting selected:

    # chpath -l hdisk0 -p vscsi1 -a priority=1
    # chpath -l hdisk0 -p vscsi1 -a priority=2

Problem summary

  • When a higher priority path recovers after failure the
IO does not fail back to it. errpt shows path recovery
    ok.

Problem conclusion

  • When path priorites are reevaluated for all the paths on a
path coming back online, account for both fail over and round
    robin cases.
