APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • If a non-existing user or group is negatively cached,
secldapclntd uses
this negative cache entry until it is overwritten by a
new entry even it
the entry itself has already expired.

Local fix

  • run flush-secldapclntd to clear the cache

Problem summary

  • Negative cache will never expire. Non existing user
will always checked in the cache.It will never checked
in LDAP server.

Problem conclusion

  • The cache is validated with usercachetimeout value.If the cache
is not valid, then the entry will not be picked from cache and
the client makes a request to LDAP server.
