Problem summary

  • The lsa reaper thread, when it runs, has high CPU time.
    Also, this fixes an unrelated crash in fork.

Problem conclusion

  • Silently, and automatically disable unshared terabyte aliases,
    once a sufficient number exist, such that there would be some
    system interference by the lsareapr thread. This allows the
    system to utilize unshared aliases by default, until some
    threshold of their utilization is reached. After that, the
    system will automatically and silently disable them, but will
    continue to use the pre-existing ones.

    For the fork crash, properly handle terabyte segments created
    through shmctl() with terabyte aliases.
