IV04567: NIMADM MIGRATION FAILS TO REMOVE OBSOLETE EFIXES APPLIES TO AIX 7100-01

APAR status

Error description

  • When using nimadm to migrate a system that has efixes
installed, nimadm fails to remove the obsolete efixes
when not using nimadm cache option

Local fix

  • Use emgr -XFO after migration on target disk to remove
obsolete efixes

Problem summary

  • Symptom is that emgr -l will show old release IFIX's on newly
migrated system after using nimadm without caching.

Problem conclusion

  • The solution is for emgr to test if NIM caching is set or not.
