Problem conclusion
You will fail with a 1-2 prompt screen, and can select 2 to go into maintenance and extend hd5 "extendlv hd5 1", but there are limitations. Limitations include that hd5 must be in the first 4GB of the disk, and that all the partitions for hd5 must be adjacent.
