Error description
When attempting to reset ethernet statistics for mlxentdd device (Device Type: 40GbE PCIe3 CX3 Network Adapter) using either: entstat -r entX or netstat -Zv The counters for "Receive Errors" may not reset to 0 for SEA/Etherchannel/Real adapter due to the counter for "Receive Frame Errors" under the "Extended Interface Statistics" not being reset to 0 when an interface is configured.
Local fix
These counters should reset on reboot of the OS -or- It may be possible to reset the statistics by bringing down the interface of the adapter if configured: #ifconfig enX down detach #entstat -r entX #chdev -l enX -a state=up #mkdev -l inet0 Where enX/entX corresponds to the adapter involved. Note: Be aware that this can result in an outage for the network serviced by that interface.
Problem summary
The commands 'netstat -Zv as well as entstat -r entX' will not clear some statistics for the adapters using mlxentdd driver.
Problem conclusion
Fixed the problem in the source code.
Temporary fix
