APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • PcachExit is not waiting for inflight message to
complete if only 1 sync op is inflight. Due to this One
thread is freeing the vfsP and same vfsP is getting
derefrenced another thread while doing PcacheDisable.

Problem summary


    

  • Problem description:
Kernel crash when home is not reachable and AFM fileset is
going to Unmounted state.
There is race between one thread which is freeing vfsP and
another thread is derefrencing vfsP while playing operation
to home from AFM queue.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • Benefits of the solution:
Fixed the code so that vfsP is not freed if there is even
single operation in queue.

Work Around: None

Problem trigger (conditions necessary for problem to occur):
Home disconnect and one operation in the queue.

Symptom: Abend/Crash

Platforms affected: Linux Only

Functional Area affected: AFM
