IJ16969: VIOSUPGRADE -T BOSINST FROM NIM MAY USE THE WRONG HDISK

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When using the -t bosinst by specifying a disk with -r option
  for the viosupgrade command on a NIM server, the install of the
  new VIO 3.1 may overwrite the wrong disk.
  .
  This may happen on VIO LPARs that had their hdisks numbering
  modified, like replaced failed disks or SAN migrations.
  On such LPARs the disk numbering may be different after the
  VIOS upgrade which may result in installing on the wrong hdisk
  number.
